Singapore's student exchange program aims to cultivate a new generation of leaders with a deep understanding of India's culture and economy. The Confederation of Indian Industry Young Indian chapter in Singapore (CII Yi) plans to expand its student exchange program to 300 youths annually. This initiative is a strategic move to build on the historical ties between the two nations, with Singapore already being India's top foreign direct investment hub. The program has already sent 40 students to India for exchange and immersion programs, including the 'India Talent Read Programme', facilitated by the Ministry of Trade Industry, Enterprise Singapore, and the National Youth Council. This year, 40 Indian students have also participated in a similar exchange program in Singapore. CII Yi's long-term goal is to exchange 300 students annually, fostering a relationship with Indian society, including tier 2 and 3 cities, and creating a youth network focused on the Indian market. The Indian community in Singapore, especially financial sector experts, will be involved in the CII Yi platform. This partnership leverages the comprehensive and strategic partnership between India and Singapore, as emphasized by Mohamed Irshad, CII Yi Chairman and former nominated member of the Singapore parliament. The India-Singapore Youth Summit, a key milestone, aims to strengthen ties between the youth of both countries, involving students, professionals, and entrepreneurs. Dinesh Vasu Dash, Minister of State, highlighted the 'India Experience Immersion Programme' between CII and the Institute of South Asian Studies, which has allowed students to explore India. Avnish Patnaik, Chief Representative of CII in Singapore, emphasized the importance of involving young professionals, entrepreneurs, and students in shaping the India-Singapore partnership's future. The summit attracted around 100 delegates from Singapore and India, fostering cross-cultural learning and collaboration.
